The Next Chapter
In the several years since the end of a devastating war, the secret world of magic that once changed the life of a lonely boy in a cupboard under the stairs has found peace again - at last. All-magical villages like Hogsmeade have seen their communities thriving, a sense of camaraderie connecting surviving families in the wake of so much gloom.
There will always be those eager to exploit the dark side of magic, however, and a sense of bitter restlessness has only grown deeper among those who once supported the hateful cause of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. The Wizarding World itself is changing, though some hope for the better, and an experiment-gone-wrong within the Ministry of Magic's Department of Mysteries has created a terrifying conundrum:
All over London, and in choice other parts of the world, witches and wizards who've lived (and, in some cases, died) in both recent and distant eras passed have been finding themselves randomly displaced in the current day. While the Ministry scrambles to keep the situation as secret as possible, to figure out what exactly has caused the displacement and how many have been displaced (in a society that works very hard to restrict the notion of meddling with time), it begins to become clearer to those investigating that the strange situation might just be part of a darker plan ...
